The Champion

Yesterday I posted a group picture of the Florence and Tony Vrana
Family Reunion that was coordinated by Brother Don, Gladys and family at Syracuse, NE in July of 2003. I finished scanning pictures of the event today and thought this one was outstanding. He had obviously just won the Championship Ribbon for Mutton Riding and wasn't sure how to react. His big blue eyes indicated that he was pleased but not necessarily elated. The Mutton Bust'en was just one of the many events that took place during the parts of 3 days that we were together. They included; Horseback riding, Softball games, Hay Rack Rides, Golf, along with a lot of singing, visiting and eating. We have had family reunions since then in California, Colorado, here in Seward, up in Tomah, WI and the last one at Mahoney State Park. They have all been good but this '03 event has been hard to beat for the wide variety of activity. I not sure what is on the agenda for the next one. Janice and Larry are already planning to be back in Seward this summer for a special HS Class reunion. Elaine and I plan to celebrate our 70th Wedding Anniversary on June 5. That may generate a lot of family and friends whether it's called a Reunion or whatever.
