St. Luke, Chapter 2. verse 6 And so it was , that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her first born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And, the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
This message is being repeated around the world this season and Nativity scenes are symbols of the story. This "stable" on our table with the baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the Wise men and Animals, has been a part of our Christmas preparation for many years. When we moved, Carolyn kept the box with this, at her house and brought it up recently along with Sadie and Jack. They were the ones that set it up with this configuration. Elaine's guests have commented on the appropriateness of this arrangement. Merry Christmas to All.
