Jack in Days of Stress

Jack spent some time with us this afternoon. He quickly became aware of some Chocolate Chip cookies in the kitchen and was anxious to set on the counter and try one. He appears to have tossed off the cold problems that slowed him down during the mid-week and was back to his normal self. He has learned to say "cheese" when he gets a picture taken and sometimes seems to carry it a bit to extreme. But, it is a way of getting to see  his new teeth that also slowed him down recently along with the cold. His dexterity with his fingers continue to surprise me. He picked a "chocolate chip" out of his cookie and fed it to me.
This has been a very stressful day with the Time change, the Presidential Election and the Nebraska Football blowout, all coming at the same time like a "perfect storm". It's easy to set the clocks, but our internal time change is not. The 62-3 final was the worst beating a Nebraska football team has taken since Texas Tech beat Nebraska 70-10 back in 2004. The injury scare of Tommy Armstrong added to the stress. The most scary word on the election is the wide spread criticism of our political system, and the Russian media suggesting our recognition that Democracy doesn't work and we are ready for a change. Elaine and I both have some health problems which seem to be exacerbated by all of these other stresses. Jack's presence helps to relieve the concerns over which we have very little control.
