For the first time in over 65 years, we are no longer Property Owners. The check for our house and copies of papers were delivered to us this morning by Chuck, our Realtor. The buyers signed off on everything this morning. We had done our signing last week. We wish the new owners enjoy & appreciate the place as much as we have since buying it in 1981. We were the second owners with it having been built for a widow lady in 1969. One of its special features is the baseboard, hot water heat. It provided uniform temperature throughout the house and was totally separate from the Air Conditioning.
We have anticipated this day since we signed on last August to move up to Brookdale. There has certainly been stress along the way, not only for us but for the whole family that looked upon the place as "home base". While we have accepted the "reality" of Brookdale being our "Home", this sale provides the closing. Our last look was yesterday when Carolyn came back to the car after putting the garage door remotes on the kitchen counter.
