Jackie from Utah is back for an SHS class reunion and came up to visit this afternoon. She is the widow of Don Armstrong one of my best HS buddies. He has been gone for a few years but Elaine and I have many Happy Memories of Travels, and Activities shared with Don and Jackie over the years. Jackie stays with a friend and one time neighbor, Shirley, who lives in the Staplehurst area, when she comes to town. Seward has been officially designated "Small town 4th of July City" and our town of some 7,000 grows by about 40,000 for the City Celebration. Most of the High School Class Reunions as well as many other Special Events are scheduled during the week. Shirley and daughter Susan who are also longtime friends were here with Jackie. We alerted them to Vivian Schluckebier becoming a recent resident of Brookdale; she had been a Home Ec Teacher of both Shirley and Jackie. They were able to get together for a few minutes to share pleasantries. Jackie told us earlier of a certain sewing stitch that Vivian had taught her is HS that she still uses.
