Cosco Chicken

We have watched the development of the Cosco Chicken Processing Plant here in Nebraska and the process of getting producers on board to provide the chickens since it's first publicity a couple years ago. While I'm concerned about the Environmental impacts of any operation of this magnitude, it even brings some personal relationship into play. Jessica Kolterman is involved in working with producers who are willing to meet the Cosco requirements and County regulations. We have been close friends of the Kolterman family here in Seward for many years. Sean Flowerday, the newly elected Lancaster Commissioner, who is taking a lead role in the Lancaster County proposal is the son of Charles Flowerday, Elaine's Nephew. I have every reason to believe that County Zoning Regulations will be adopted by several southeastern Nebraska Counties that will make it all possible. It will take some time and interesting negotiations and I don't plan to become involved except as an observer on the sidelines.
