Elaine's Family History.

Elaine and I did our first "set down" session out in the garage this afternoon. We set up 2 of our kitchen chairs stored out there, and began looking through files, notebooks, etc. Carolyn did most of the sorting of our many files that we had set up back at our house before we moved and rather hurriedly, many things were put in the garage. We were pleased with the condition of all the files and brought a few things back to our apartment for incorporating into other files. Much of what we went through today was Elaine's geneology work on her family. It contains many pictures, news clipping, completed forms, correspondence obituaries and some of Elaine's writing about farm life as she remembered it.We really need some guidance in developing an outline of how it should all be organized. While the forms listing names, critical dates and relationships are most important, I believe much of the rest of it might be put in story form. It already contains written information on Immigration and settlement in Missouri which would make a good beginning point.
