This is not one of the more glamorous pictures I've ever published of Elaine but indicates her very successful forward stretch before needing to step forward. Aleyah had already taken her down the hall for a 9 minute walk. She explained that this series of "standing" exercises was to strengthen leg and back muscles as well as balance. They also included standing on one leg with her eyes shut and touching a 4 inch ball with first one foot and then the other for a count of 10. Aleyah is always most complementary of Elaine's efforts which keeps her extending what she is able to do. I went out for a walk down to ride the Nu-Step for a while and listen to an elderly resident play some old Czech songs on the piano. I also spent some time in the Library looking at the old Time/Life book series that we gave the Library when we moved up here.
