Polka Jamboree at The Seward County Fair

We were back down to the Seward County Fair this evening for the Polka Jamboree at the Ag Pavilion. There were 10 Button Accordions, a Guitar, Drum and Tuba. Franklin Hronik (standing) led the group that entertained from 5:00-7:00pm. They attracted a large crowd. Many of us sat on metal folding chairs for the entire two hours. While we thoroughly enjoyed the music, the chairs got a little hard toward the end. They are an interesting group that comes together from locations within about 30 miles of Seward. There is usually a couple new members each year and about that same number are not back. They play many of the same songs that my Dad played years ago on his accordion. Our son Jon plays it now but if he were to play with them, it might take him a while to recognize all the songs that these people play from memory.
