Sunshine

While it remains cool, our weather has cleared to where we are enjoying some sunshine. Our lawn was mowed for about the 3rd time already this spring. I believe these flowering trees are Hopa Crabs but am not sure. The cool, wet weather has prolonged the blooming season.  Carolyn was down this evening and told of she and Ben having a big day planting in their new yard. She had some pictures of Boxwoods they had planted in front of their house with wood chip ground cover. It looked real nice. The wet weather over the past several days has been ideal for their new sod which was laid about a week ago. They have been accustomed to working with dark Hastings soil with a lot of organic matter and are recognizing the difference with some of the heavy clay soil in the back yard. Some of it must have come from the digging of their basement. It's a good lesson on protecting the top soil in our fields, gardens, and everywhere.
