Mixed Emotions

We enjoyed our 70+ temperature today and got the Schefilleria moved out on the patio. We also cleaned up last years residue in some of the pots to make ready for the new flower season. I even got the bird feeder filled, hung up, and saw a "Red Headed Finch" take advantage of it. The pleasure of the afternoon was put into perspective after hearing of Ed Gonzales' wife being killed in a car accident south of Garland yesterday afternoon. It seems that a 20 year old driver from Lincoln ignored a stop sign on the highway from Garland to #34. Early reports are of 2 others injured. Our supper this evening failed to brighten any spirits. It was called "Runza Casserole" and served alone with the crust broken up as a part of it. Oh Yes!! it had some onion in it. Fortunately, I had a helping of cottage cheese for salad (in lieu of cantaloupe) and took a banana for dessert. After a trip to the bathroom, Elaine fixed me an Alka-selzer and that helped. Our problems are minor and prayers go out for the Gonzales Family.
