Mickey's 90th Birthday

Elaine pulled this little Mickey Mouse out for me to play with as we watch the ABC Mickey's 90th Spectacular Birthday special. We were very fortunate in visiting Disneyland in 1956 with our 3 older children. We had bought our first TV in 1952 and were well aware of the Disney theme park when it opened. It was a "must" on our list to visit when we took Elaine's parents, Albert & Flora Flowerday and our 3 older children to California. The Flowerdays had retired from farming and had moved into Seward plus we had just bought a new 7-passenger Pontiac Station Wagon. Jon, our youngest was less than 2-years old so we left him with my folks while we were gone. Albert had a brother and wife living in the Santa Ana area where we stayed which was near Disneyland. Elaine and I took the 3 kids and were in the park for the parade. Our tickets enabled us to the rides including the ship and tunnel of love. We just had a great time. Elaine tells me that Jon and Mary were able to visit the place since he has missed out earlier. Elaine and I had an opportunity to visit the Park again in the latter '70's. We have also visited Disneyworld in Orlando, FL during one of our southeastern trips.
