There is a lot of sharing of reading material among residents at Brookdale.
We added many books to the facilities library while moving in last
September. Occasionally our mail gets mixed up and that may have been
how I saw "The Week" magazine for the first time. However, we and close
neighbors, have exchanged it for our weekly Time magazine. We typically
exchange them about the time the new issue arrives. The
Week is a weekly news magazine with editions in the United Kingdom and
United States. The British publication was founded in 1995 and the
American edition started in 2001. The Publisher of the U.S. edition is John Guehl and William Falk
the Editor-in-Chief. U.S circulation in June 2017 was 573,820. It is
published by The Week Publications in New York City. This issue contains
40-pages which is about half of Time's normal number and a much more,
"to the point" magazine. One of the main stories is this issue is "The blowback
from Trump's summit with Putin". It stemmed from President Trump's
initial comments concerning the discussion in Helsinki on possible
Russian involvement in the presidential election. He said, "President
Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today". This
comment was interpreted by many including Trump supporters as his
questioning information provided by U.S. Intelligence findings. The
magazine gives a good 2-page summary of "The World at a glance..." and
many other features which make it a very informative publication.
